Places of Worship (Part 3): Grounds of redemption

Aug 13, 2023    Jaekuk Jo

At the end of his reign, David commits an act of sin that brings calamity upon his people. In order to remedy the situation David asks for the punishment to be passed unto him but God instead asks for a burnt offering as a symbol of redemption. The place where David sacrifices his burnt offerings later becomes the temple of Jerusalem. The house of God was built upon grounds of redemption. To be God’s people means to be living witnesses of the redemptive work of God in this world. Understanding how God brings about redemption in our lives, helps us define our circumstances and all relationship dynamics in life.
