When Abraham began his journey he had to leave many comforts and certainties behind. The people he knew, the place he used to frequent. From that point on every time he arrived somewhere, he was a stranger and everything around was new and unknown. Life can be rough without constants. The lack of consistency in people and place can negatively affect our resilience. As we read Abraham’s story we get to see an interesting pattern. He built Altars everywhere he went. This is how he reminded himself of the relationship that enabled him in life. This is how maintained and strengthen his connection to God, who had called him into this journey.
